How to Connect Your Social Networks to Ecamm Live

Nov 03, 2022

Ecamm Live allows us to livestream on multiple social platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Twitch and Resctream.io.

If you haven't tried Ecamm yet, I highly encourage you to try it.

Click here for a 2-Month free trial! Use the code Diana2MOS as you register.

In this post, I'm going to show you how you can connect your Facebook, YouTube and Restream.io to Ecamm Live.

Let's dive in.

Where Can You Find the Connect Option?

On your Ecamm Live app dashboard, on the bottom part of your main screen, you can see the Destination.

If you haven't selected any destination from your previous livestream, it will be set to Recording Only as the default.

If you've tried to connect Ecamm to your social platform before, your last selection is what you will see on the Destination

Click the dropdown kernel to show the options.

On the Destination, you'll see the following:

  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Twitch
  • Twitter
  • YouTube
  • Restream.io
  • Switchboard Live
  • Custom Stream Key
  • Record Only

⚡️ Pro-Tip ⚡️

Connecting your social media accounts to Ecamm Live requires permission.

Before connecting your social media accounts, make sure to grant Ecamm Live permission, so it allows you to share and post your livestream.

It is safe, and you don't have to worry about spams and scams.

Let's now connect Facebook to Ecamm Live.

How to Connect Facebook to Ecamm Live

On the Destination, choose Facebook.

Verify that the Destination was changed into Facebook.

You can verify it at the bottom part of your screen.

In this tutorial, the Destination is set to Record Only.

When I changed the Destination to Facebook, you'll see at the bottom of the screen that the Record Only was replaced by a Login button with the Facebook logo.

Make sure you've already granted Ecamm Live a permission to connect with Facebook.

Click the login button.

Ecamm will give you an option to login using a Web Browser or using a different account.

In this tutorial, I picked the Web Browser.

A message will pop up at the top of your screen asking your permission to open Ecamm Live.

You can check the box that allows www.ecamm.com to always open links of this type in the associated app.

It's safe to do that, but in this tutorial I left it unchecked.

Click the Open Ecamm Live button.

Facebook may ask for your username and password, depending on your permissions that were set up with Ecamm.

When everything is set, another message will pop up on your screen stating that you are now ready to go live on Facebook.

Click Get Started

You can now see the Facebook Go Live button at the bottom part of your screen.

When you go over to the Destination, you can now see that it is set to Facebook

You can also see some additional options to customize your show.

You have the option to choose who would you like to post as. It can be your Facebook personal account or on your Facebook Pages.

You also have the option to select where you want to share and post your live stream.

It can be on your timeline. You can set it to public or private.

You can also share it to your Facebook groups.

Another option allows you to schedule your live stream.

If you want to schedule your stream, click the dropdown kernel on the Go Live Now (Unscheduled) Option.

Click New Schedule Live.

Pick where you want to broadcast your livestream on Facebook.

Enter the title and description of your live show.

Add your thumbnail image on the image box.

Set the date and time of your live stream.

You must schedule your stream on Facebook between 10 minutes and 7 days from when you create your schedule.

Click Schedule.

If you've already prescheduled your stream on Facebook, it will automatically show up on the Ecamm Schedule option, even if you create the schedule on the Facebook platform itself.

How to Connect YouTube to Ecamm Live

Go to the Destination and choose YouTube.

Go over to the bottom part of your screen to make sure that the destination was changed and set to YouTube

You must see the YouTube logo at the login option.

Click Log in

It will ask you to log in to your Google account.

If you have 2-step verification setup on your Google account, it will ask you for a verification.

A verification code will be sent over to your phone or to your email address.

When the login attempt was verified, you can now select the actual channel that you want to connect with Ecamm.

Click Allow to give Ecamm permission to share the live stream to YouTube.

You are now ready to go live on YouTube!

Click Get Started.

At the left bottom part of your screen, you can add the title and description of your show.

Just like on Facebook, you also have additional options where you can customize your show on YouTube.

If you click the Go Live button, your stream will start automatically.

But you also have the option to schedule your stream on YouTube.

Click the Go Live Now (Unscheduled) Option.

The scheduling box will pop up.

Choose where you want to broadcast your stream. It can go on Public, Private or Unlisted.

If you don't want anyone to see your video unless they have the link to it, you can select Unlisted.

Or set it as Private if you want only people who you email can get access to your video.

Add the title and description of your show.

Add your thumbnail at the image box.

For the Stream Latency, I'd like to keep it Normal

If your show is made and safe for kids, you can check the Made for Kids box.

But if you have a regular show, make sure you leave it unchecked because it will decide whether you'll get monetization or comments on your actual channel.

You can schedule your show way longer in advance, unlike on Facebook that has limitations. Choose your preferred date and time.

Click Schedule

Once it is scheduled, you can now see the scheduled date and time on the Destination area, and you will also see a countdown when the stream will go live on the channel.

Even though the stream was scheduled on Ecamm, you still need to go to the YouTube Studio because some controls and actions like the monetization and comments must be handled on the YouTube platform.

Ecamm don't have the ability to control and make changes on your YouTube set up.

How to Connect Restream.io to Ecamm Live

Go to the Destination and select Restream.io.

Verify if the destination was changed, and you can see the Restream icon at the login button.

Click Login.

Restream will require your Email and Password to log in.

Enter your email and password, then click Log In.

Once you click the log in button, Restream will ask to authorize Ecamm to use the account.

Click Allow.

You are now ready to go live via Restream.io.

Click Get Started.
